Firwood Bootle captain Craig Prince is pleased to announce the signing of batsman Will Hale who, in three years with Lytham (2013-15), racked up 2514 Premier League runs and who more recently has been playing for Hallam CC in Sheffield.  Craig told me recently that he is absolutely delighted to welcome Will to the Wadham Road family as he is a superb cricketer who is currently fine tuning his game in Australia – hopefully in readiness for the 2018 season in England.  The captain went on to explain that he has earmarked Will to open the Bootle batting alongside Vishal Tripathi and is confident that he will complement and enhance Vishal’s own performances.

With Sam Kershaw having already joined us from Rainhill, there ought to be no shortage of runs from the top order in the new season.  Craig pronounced himself equally pleased with the arrival of Vishal’s brother, Bharat, from Burnley CC as the skipper has made no secret of his desire for a left-arm spin bowler to add some much needed variety to the Bootle attack.  There appears to be every chance that Bharat will fill that gap in our resources.
