About US

Established in 1833, Bootle Cricket Club has been a community fixture for 192 years.

Our previous grounds being Richmond Vale, then moving to Bank Hall Fields which is now the site of Kirkdale Train station, a compulsory move to then Strand Road to finally reaching our home of Wadham Road in since 1884 where Firwood Bootle CC resides today.

The club has seen success in cricket, winning multiple championships and cups, throughout the age groups.

Notable matches include encounters with All England XI, an Aboriginal XI, and a South of England XI.

In the mid-1990s, sponsorship by Firwood Timber led to the club’s name change’ Firwood Bootle’. The period from 1984, led by captain Ian Cockbain, marked the club’ s most successful era.

With a strong youth section, FBCC aims to nurture local talent and sustain its success as a strong point within the local and wider Merseyside community.

A message from our Chairperson

Firwood Bootle CC is the key focal point of our local community by the relationships we form both on and off the field of play. I personally have been proud to have been part of this club for over 50 years and now have the great honour in helping lead our committee to drive our club forward enabling strong links with both local and national businesses through our website, match day programmes, members and neighbours leading to solid lasting connections with our kind and generous sponsors.
